A Day in Pictures
Rooms, routines and the everyday play that fills our sessions.

Who We Are
Ambitions First Education runs early learning and development sessions for young children in their early years. We are not a nursery, pre-school or school: we are a small learning setting where children come together in groups that match their stage, and where the adults in the room stay the same. That consistency is deliberate. Children settle faster when they know the room, the routine and the faces, and when they know who will be there to help them try something again.
Every session is planned around what the children in that group can already do. A child who is just learning to share is not asked to sit through a long group activity; a child who is ready to write their name is not kept in a baby room. We watch, we plan, and we adjust week by week. The six areas of learning — communication and language, creativity and expression, early numeracy, early literacy, problem solving and social development — run through everything we do, usually several of them inside one activity.
We keep our groups small and we keep our rooms calm and prepared. Activities are set out before children arrive, so the first thing they meet is not a queue at a trolley but a table they can walk up to and start playing at. Practitioners join in at eye level rather than directing from the side, and the pace of the session follows the children rather than a clock. If a child is absorbed, we let them stay absorbed; if a child needs to move, we help them find somewhere to move.
Families get short progress notes each term, a handover at the end of every session, and a standing invitation to come and see the rooms before they book. There is no entrance test, no uniform and no expectation that a child will already be able to do anything in particular — only that they come as they are, and give it a try.
